Art museum announces new executive director
Steven A. Nash will be the new executive director of the Palm Springs Art Museum, according to an announcement from the museum this evening. Nash, who most recently served as director of the new Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas since January 2001, will take the helm in April, after current Executive Director Janice Lyle retires. Dr. Nash will strengthen our position nationally and internationally as a leading arts institution, Harold J. Meyerman, Museum Board of Trustees president who also chaired the museum's search subcommittee, said in a news release from the museum released this evening. With his background at the most senior levels at leading art institutions in Buffalo, San Francisco and Dallas, his numerous publications, his lectures and the major exhibitions he has organized, he will be uniquely qualified to lead the Palm Springs Art Museum into the 21st century.
