Museum's new wing to get interactive
The public will get a chance next month to see how the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center plans to use its new space. The museum wants to give visitors a higher-tech, more interactive experience when it opens the new wing in the spring of 2008. The wing will be in the 80-year-old former Planters National Bank building being renovated across the street from the museum at the corner of William and Princess Anne streets. Area residents can get a sneak peek at the new exhibit plan at a meeting at the University of Mary Washington on Feb. 7. The plans developed by Quatrefoil, a Maryland-based consultant, include three videos that will run continuously, two interactive computer stations and multiple hands-on experiences to connect people with the city's history.
